Trell claims that it has witnessed 500% growth with 15 million plus creators on its platform after the ban of Chinese apps. It also claimed of receiving more than 5 billion views on monthly basis and rapid growth since. Trell which is an Indian community-commerce platform has announced a $11.4 million Series A.
This series will be led by KTB Network. Samsung Ventures, Ankur Nagpal, CEO of Teachable, Gokul Rajaram, who is the board member. Including Pinterest, Square, DoorDash and even Vineet Buch, who was the ex-head of Google Play Store Development. All these people participated via Firebolt Ventures along with the Sequoia’s Surge, Fosun RZ Capital, and WEH Ventures.
The deal haven’t got government approval yet, according to people. After the ban of Chinese apps like TikTok by Indian government, many Indian brands like Trell, Chingari and Roposo are trying to fill the void left behind these banned apps. However, by the ban of Chinese apps Trell is experiencing 500% growth with total of 15 million plus creators on its platform. They have even noticed about receiving more than 5 billion monthly views and fast growth.

Trell announced in March a $4 million pre-Series A funding round. The company said that it will be led by Sequoia Capital India’s Surge, Fozun RZ Capital and KTB Network. Trell basically is a mobile application, where users share 3-minute vertical videos in different languages. Currently, they have more than 20 categories available in different 8 Indian languages.
