The short version

• You can read freely — every article is open, no paywall, no signup wall.
• Quote and share is encouraged with attribution (“via The Entrepreneur Story”) and a link back.
• Don't republish wholesale. Re-publication of full articles, AI scraping for training, and competitive feed mirroring require written permission.
• Paid content (print issues, sponsored founder features) has its own terms surfaced at checkout.
• We can update these — but never retroactively for transactions already completed.

Use of the site

You may access, read, and link to any public page. You may quote short passages with credit. You may share articles via email, social, or messaging.

Not permitted

• Scraping articles in bulk for AI training, content farms, or republication. We block automated harvesting and reserve the right to legal action.
• Mirroring our feed without a written syndication agreement.
• Removing bylines, photo credits, or disclosure labels.
• Misrepresenting our coverage — for example, lifting a quote out of context to imply endorsement we did not give.

Content ownership

Every article, photograph, and editorial illustration on this site is copyrighted by The Entrepreneur Story or its contributors. Republication requires written permission; quote with credit is fair use under most jurisdictions.

Submissions

When you submit a founder pitch via /founders/submit or pitch a story to the desk, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use the information you submit for editorial review and to contact the parties named. You retain ownership of your submission; you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Paid features

Paid founder features, issue placements, and print orders are governed by additional terms surfaced at checkout. Headline rules:

• Payment buys candidacy and production time. It does not buy coverage tone. See our transparency policy.
• Refund window for founder features: 7 days from purchase, or until publication, whichever comes first.
• Print issue orders: full refund if cancelled before the issue ships from the printer.
• Ad placements: prorated refund if pulled before half the booked duration has elapsed.

Disclaimers

We report carefully but we don't guarantee accuracy or completeness of every detail. Don't treat editorial content as legal, financial, or medical advice. If a piece materially affects a decision you're about to make, verify with a relevant professional.

We are not responsible for content on sites we link to.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of this site is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (which, for the vast majority of readers, is zero).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Delaware, USA. Any dispute that can't be resolved by good-faith email goes to binding arbitration there.
