The firewall.
We make money from sponsored content, paid founder features, issue placements, ads, and print. Here is exactly how each works, and what payment never buys.
What payment buys
- Candidacy and production time. A reporter on the schedule. A photographer. Layout. A slot.
- Visible disclosure. Every paid placement is labelled at point of consumption and surfaced on this page below.
What payment never buys
- Coverage tone. Editors decide the angle. Sales has no edit access. We do not write puff pieces.
- Censoring critical reporting. If we are commissioned to write about a company we're sponsored by, and the reporter finds something inconvenient, it ships.
- Higher rankings. Sponsored articles are excluded from the trending feed by default.
Active commercial relationships
The list below is updated whenever a new placement goes live. If you believe a piece on this site should be disclosed and isn't, email info@theentrepreneurstory.com and we will investigate within 48 hours.
