Walmart-owned e-commerce giant Flipkart has officially launched its rapid delivery service, ‘Minutes,’ in Bengaluru, aiming to revolutionize quick commerce in India. The service, which promises deliveries within 10 to 15 minutes, is now operational in key areas such as HSR Layout, Gunjur, Bellandur, and Kadubeesanahalli.

This new offering positions Flipkart directly in competition with existing quick commerce players like Zepto, Swiggy’s Instamart, and Zomato’s Blinkit. Flipkart’s entry into the 10-minute delivery sector follows months of preparation and strategic planning.

The initial rollout focuses on high-demand residential and IT hubs, with the company planning to expand further based on its initial performance. Flipkart aims to operate around 100 fulfillment centers to support this initiative, especially during the upcoming festive season.

While competitors like Zepto and Instamart have carved out a significant market share with their 15-20 minute delivery services, Flipkart’s new offering seeks to capture a portion of this growing segment. Currently, Flipkart provides same-day delivery across multiple categories and is looking to extend its quick-commerce services to cover more cities, including non-metro regions.

Hari Kumar G, Vice President and Head of Grocery at Flipkart, highlighted that the company envisions both quick-commerce and next-day delivery models coexisting. The firm is committed to enhancing its grocery services and exploring the expansion of quick-commerce services based on demand across different locations in India.

The launch of ‘Minutes’ marks Flipkart’s aggressive push into the rapid delivery space, aiming to meet the high expectations of today’s consumers for swift and efficient service.
