ZunRoof, a start-up that has provided solar rooftop solutions. It has raised $3 million in a Series A round through the Godrej investment office. This was found in 2016 by Pranesh Chaudhary and Sushant Sachan. The founder gaved an idea of using un-utilized rooftops for solar, and to provide control of every appliance in one’s house by the hardware, which is enabled by Internet of Things (IoT) and apps.

The chief executive officer Chaudhary said in a statement,“This investment will fuel our aim to put solar on the roofs of 1 million home-owners in the next five years and bring a taste of IoT to these customers,”

Till now, the company is successful to access over 2,50,000 homes. It has designed more than 30,000 rooftop solar systems in more than 70 cities across the country. Even, the company is successful in installing more than 15 megawatts of rooftop solar and over 50,000 IoT devices.

Plans Moving Forward

After all this, ZunRoof said I hope it will resolve the problem of affordability with solar rooftops in India. It company will soon launch a service to further improve the affordability. According to the developers, it would then be easy on customers’ pockets and even will save plenty of electricity bills for more than 25 years.

A common household requires a 3 kilowatt solar rooftop, which in total saves INR 30,000 in the electricity bills, for upcoming 25 yrs. And, even the current cost is around INR 1,30,000, the company said.

ZunRoof, told that they have planed to expand their product portfolio this year and will try to register a 500 per cent growth. In the next half, the company will also release its home-IoT product-line for people or consumers. These products have been already secured by many business clients including real estate developers and shared economy firms.
