Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah, known for revolutionizing education through innovative learning solutions, has announced the launch of its ‘PW School of Startups’ (PW SOS) along with a $5 million fund aimed at supporting over 100 startups. This new initiative is designed to provide a comprehensive platform for entrepreneurs, offering cost-effective ideation programs, practical training, mentorship, and capital raising opportunities.

Program Highlights:

  • Aarambh: A five-day offline program tailored for school students, college students, and early professionals. This introductory program will provide access to essential resources, networking opportunities, and expert advice to help participants kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.
  • Prarambh: An extensive five-month offline program designed for college students, early professionals, small family business owners, and second-generation entrepreneurs. This program offers in-depth training and mentorship to guide participants through the early stages of their business ventures.
  • Hopes Alive: A free, five-month hybrid program intended for seed-funded or bootstrapped startups across various sectors. This program will support emerging startups with a blend of online and offline resources to help them scale their operations and secure additional funding.

Founded in 2020 by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah quickly rose to prominence, achieving unicorn status in 2022 after raising $100 million in its first funding round from Westbridge and GSV Ventures. Since then, the company has expanded its offerings and acquired several startups, continuing to innovate and adapt to the evolving educational landscape.

The launch of the PW SOS reflects PhysicsWallah’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting the growth of startups, particularly those emerging from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India. According to Pandey, “Progressing Bharat’s startup ecosystem can significantly contribute to our nation’s economic growth. There is immense potential in startups from these regions, and our initiative aims to provide the guidance and community support they need to succeed.”

PhysicsWallah’s move into the startup ecosystem underscores its broader vision of creating a robust educational and entrepreneurial environment.
