Samsung Electronics has officially kicked off laptop manufacturing in India, marking a significant expansion of its local production footprint under the Indian government’s flagship “Make in India” initiative.

The South Korean tech giant has started assembling laptops at its Greater Noida facility, which already serves as a production hub for smartphones, tablets, wearables, and feature phones. According to insiders familiar with the development, the first batch of India-assembled Samsung laptops has already entered the domestic market — and full-scale production is set to ramp up soon.

The move signals Samsung’s deeper commitment to India — not just as a top consumer market but as a key global manufacturing base.
