True Diamond Secures $1 Million in Seed Funding to Spark Growth

In an exciting move for the sustainable jewellery market, True Diamond, a Mumbai-based startup specializing in high-quality lab-grown diamonds, has successfully raised $1 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Titan Capital and saw participation from Huddle Ventures, Zeropearl Ventures, and several notable angel investors, including Ashutosh Valani, Priyank Shah, Aashka Goradia Goble, Mamaearth founder Ghazal Alagh, Abhishek Goyal, and Anmol Jain.

With this new investment, True Diamond is set to accelerate its growth plans, which include building a talented team, launching exclusive boutique stores in Mumbai and Delhi NCR, and ramping up branding and marketing efforts to establish itself as a key player in the rapidly growing lab-grown diamond sector.

What is True Diamond and Why It’s Different

Founded in January 2024 by Parin Shah and Darayus Mehta, True Diamond is on a mission to make high-quality, sustainable jewellery accessible to everyone. The startup focuses on lab-grown diamonds that are virtually identical to natural diamonds in terms of chemical composition, physical properties, and optical brilliance. The key difference? They are created in a lab, not mined from the Earth.

This focus on lab-grown diamonds comes at a time when consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental and ethical concerns tied to traditional diamond mining. True Diamond is tapping into this growing demand for sustainable and ethically sourced products, offering a range of customizable jewellery options that include engagement rings, earrings, necklaces, and tennis bracelets, as well as pieces designed specifically for men.

Parin Shah, co-founder of True Diamond, explained,
“With this funding, we can grow our team, open exclusive boutiques, and strengthen our brand presence. We’re excited to work closely with our investors to make True Diamond a household name in the jewellery industry.”

Sustainability at the Heart of True Diamond’s Mission

True Diamond isn’t just about beautiful jewellery—it’s about making a positive impact on the planet. Traditional diamond mining can cause significant environmental damage and raise ethical concerns related to the treatment of workers. In contrast, lab-grown diamonds offer an eco-friendly alternative that eliminates these issues.

The diamonds created by True Diamond are produced using cutting-edge technology in controlled lab environments, making them a sustainable option for consumers who want to invest in high-quality jewellery without the guilt. These diamonds are also conflict-free, meaning they don’t come with the same ethical dilemmas that some natural diamonds are associated with.

This commitment to sustainability is becoming a major selling point for a growing number of consumers who are looking to align their purchases with their values. True Diamond’s products offer a way to own a stunning piece of jewellery without contributing to environmental harm or supporting unethical practices.

Plans for Growth: Boutique Stores and Big Branding Push

With its new funding, True Diamond is eager to expand its presence and reach more consumers. The startup plans to open exclusive boutique outlets in Mumbai and Delhi NCR, where customers can explore its full range of jewellery in-person and experience the brand’s premium offering. These boutique stores will provide a luxurious, personalized shopping experience, allowing customers to try on jewellery and consult with experts about their options.

In addition to opening physical stores, True Diamond will also focus on branding and marketing efforts to strengthen its presence in the market. The goal is to build awareness around the quality, sustainability, and ethical benefits of lab-grown diamonds, reaching a wider audience who might be considering this new, responsible way to purchase fine jewellery.

A Bright Future Ahead

True Diamond is still in its early stages, but its future looks bright. With a clear vision for growth and an increasing demand for sustainable jewellery, the startup is poised to make a big impact in the industry. The $1 million in seed funding will help it take significant strides toward becoming a household name in the world of fine jewellery.

As more consumers shift their focus to products that are environmentally friendly, ethical, and affordable, True Diamond’s lab-grown diamonds offer a compelling alternative to the traditional jewellery industry. With its strong brand identity and commitment to sustainability, True Diamond is setting itself up to lead the way in the future of jewellery.
