Currently, Uninstall PhonePe is trending on Twitter with thousands of users demanding that the company to remove Aamir Khan and Alia Bhat, as its brand ambassadors.
The trend of Uninstalling PhonePe has recently reached 80,000 tweets on Twitter, and is even trending more day by day, and is also at number 3 nationwide. This year in February, PhonePe signed on Aamir Khan and Alia Bhat as an brand ambassadors as a part of a Rs. 800 crore marketing blitz.
As both the celebrities have found themselves embroiled in controversies, during this month. Aamir Khan courted controversy by meeting with the wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan consistently had a stridently anti-India rhetoric, criticizing India’s move to revoke Article 370.
According to the reports, Turkey was funding anti-India activities. Last week, pictures of Aamir Khan visiting his home went viral, Khan was also criticized for fraternizing with a leader who was anti-Indian.
