Nazara Technologies Limited, a prominent Indian gaming company, is advancing its international expansion strategy with two major announcements this month. On August 21, 2024, the company revealed plans to invest up to £21.2 million (about ₹229.4 crore) in its UK subsidiary to fund the acquisition of Fusebox Games Ltd.
The investment will be split into a share subscription of £4,236,246 (~₹45.9 crore) and a loan of up to £16,944,985 (~₹183.5 crore). These funds are designated for Nazara UK’s acquisition of Fusebox Games Ltd., as previously announced on August 8, 2024.
Both the share subscription and loan agreements were finalized on August 21, 2024. Notably, Nazara UK, established on July 31, 2024, has not yet begun operations. The company clarified that these transactions are exempt from related party transaction regulations due to their involvement with a wholly-owned subsidiary.
This move follows Nazara’s earlier announcement on August 8, 2024, regarding its successful bid in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process for Smaaash Entertainment Private Limited. The Committee of Creditors approved Nazara’s resolution plan for Smaaash, which is currently undergoing insolvency proceedings.
As of today, Nazara Technologies Limited’s shares are trading at ₹963, a decrease of ₹4.15 or 0.43 percent on the NSE at 11:15 am.
