This is the question that led to the birth of QwiqGas, a hyperlocal startup founded by Husain Kanchwala (Founder & CEO) and Qutub Raj (Co-Founder & Head of Operations). The duo combines over a decade of expertise — Husain’s background in e-commerce and logistics, and Qutub’s deep experience in gas agency operations — to tackle one of the most overlooked but essential services in India.
From Frustration to Innovation
The idea for QwiqGas sparked when Husain personally faced a 2-day wait for a gas refill, with no emergency support available. For a country where LPG powers millions of kitchens, this gap in accessibility was more than an inconvenience — it was a problem affecting households, small businesses, and even restaurants.
Recognizing the urgency, the founders partnered with local private gas agencies, built a robust operations model, and launched India’s first dedicated 60-minute gas delivery service in Indore. The goal: make ordering cooking gas as easy, fast, and reliable as ordering a pizza.
