Titan Capital has officially closed its Winners Fund at an impressive INR 333 crore, a significant boost from its initial target of INR 200 crore. This surge in interest from investors allowed the firm to tap into its greenshoe option, raising additional commitments to support the next wave of innovation in India’s startup ecosystem.

At the helm of this initiative are Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, two trailblazers in the Indian startup scene. With a remarkable track record of investing in over 280 companies since 2011, Bahl and Bansal are not just names in the industry; they’re influential figures committed to fostering the growth of emerging founders.

They will be joined by a seasoned management team, including Chetan Rana, who brings extensive experience from WestBridge Capital and other major financial institutions, and Shiv Kapoor, who boasts over a decade of expertise, having worked with global names like Dropbox and Urban Company.

In their own words, Bahl and Bansal expressed their gratitude for the strong investor interest: “We are excited to leverage the Titan Capital Winners Fund to support around 20 tech-enabled startups, each receiving an average investment of INR 15 crore. This not only strengthens our existing partnerships but also sends a strong message to new investors about the potential of these companies.”

The Winners Fund is poised to concentrate on follow-on investments in breakout companies from its seed portfolio, utilizing high-signal data to make informed and strategic decisions.

So far, the fund has made its initial three investments. Notably, Convin, a Bengaluru-based startup, is developing an AI co-pilot tailored for customer-facing teams, already serving clients like Flipkart and ICICI Bank. In Mumbai, Beco is making waves with its eco-friendly homecare products, while Simplismart offers a platform that accelerates the implementation of machine learning models for businesses of all sizes. Several other promising deals are currently under review.

Titan Capital’s impressive seed portfolio includes standout names such as Urban Company, Mamaearth, Ola Cabs, Razorpay, Credgenics, and OfBusiness. The fund’s Limited Partners (LPs) comprise a diverse mix of family offices, industry leaders, and entrepreneurial figures, further enriching its investment approach.

Since its inception, Titan Capital has played a crucial role in early-stage investments, backing over 250 startups and contributing significantly to the flourishing Indian startup landscape. With the Winners Fund, Titan Capital is set to continue this impactful journey, championing innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
