Ankush Sachdeva, co-founder and CEO of ShareChat, has made headlines as the youngest entrepreneur on the inaugural ‘2024 Hurun India Under35s’ list, featuring 150 outstanding Indian entrepreneurs aged 35 and under. A graduate of IIT Kanpur, Sachdeva launched ShareChat in 2015 alongside co-founders Bhanu Pratap Singh and Farid Ahsan.
Holding a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur, Sachdeva interned at Microsoft in 2014 before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey. His accolades include being named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list in 2018.
ShareChat is a unique social media platform tailored for Indian audiences, enabling users to watch and share trending videos and connect through chat rooms in 15 different languages. The app boasts over 500 million downloads on the Google Play Store.
Sachdeva’s path to success was not without challenges; it took him and his co-founders 17 attempts to perfect their concept for ShareChat. In addition to ShareChat, Sachdeva developed Moj, a short video platform that emerged as India’s alternative to TikTok, which has also achieved over 100 million downloads.
Starting as co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Sachdeva became CEO in 2017, guiding ShareChat to unicorn status. The Hurun Under35 list also highlights notable figures such as Parita Parekh of Toddle and Isha Ambani of Reliance Retail, both of whom are 32.
