Hana Al Rostamani, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), has been a transformative leader in the banking sector since her appointment in January 2021. As the first female CEO in FAB’s history, Hana has steered the largest bank in the UAE and one of the world’s safest financial institutions, which boasts over USD 300 billion in total assets.
Under Hana’s leadership, FAB achieved a net profit of $2.9 billion in 2020 and successfully pursued the acquisition of the Egyptian unit of Lebanon’s Bank Audi in 2021. Prior to her role as GCEO, Hana served as FAB’s Deputy CEO and Group Head of Personal Banking, where she spearheaded the transformation of FAB’s consumer banking segment with a focus on customer-centric and digital-first strategies.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Hana has held significant positions at First Gulf Bank, Citibank, and AW Rostamani Group. Her extensive background underscores her deep expertise in both domestic and international banking.
Hana is actively involved in several high-profile boards and councils. She chairs the Global Council on the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ (SDG 7), and serves as a board member of Buna, the Arab Monetary Fund’s cross-border payment system. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), and the Executive Board of the US-UAE Business Council.
An alumna of George Washington University, Hana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Management. Her leadership and contributions have been recognized with a top ranking in Forbes Middle East’s list of the region’s most powerful businesswomen.
Hana is a UAE native, married, and a mother of three, balancing her dynamic career with family life.
