Growing up in Virginia, Dr Sean O’Mara always had a desire to help people. He first served as a police officer before graduating from Penn State University, where he graduated with high honors. Later, he obtained a law degree from Villanova University School of Law. After graduating with his law degree, he became a criminal prosecutor for the city of Philadelphia.

Following his passion for helping people, he then chose to attend Temple University, where he studied medicine. Because he liked the fast pace of working with emergency situations, he focused on emergency medicine with the intention of becoming an emergency medicine doctor.

Once finishing his medical degree, he became an emergency physician in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He would eventually treat many presidents, secretaries of state, and officials in the government. Because of his dedication, he was given the U.S. Army’s Outstanding Physician of the Year Award.

While working as an emergency room doctor, he had a patient come up to him suggesting that he try the paleo diet, which includes no longer eating any carbohydrates. The reasoning for doing so is due to all of the health benefits. Dr. Sean O’Mara had never heard of this diet but was curious whether or not it could really improve a person’s health.

At the time, he was suffering from several health issues, such as having an enlarged prostate, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome causing difficulty sleeping, heart problems, serious heartburn that resulted in lesions of the esophagus needing to be screened for cancer, and skin issues like eczema.

Dr. Sean O’Mara did further research on the paleo diet. He decided that he would try it for himself and only consumed vegetables and meat, no longer eating any foods that were processed. Once he made the dietary changes, he was surprised to see that his health issues were resolved.

Even though he was happy to see positive results, he was also frustrated that the issues were not fixed by medical treatment or medications but instead were fixed as a result of dietary changes. This kind of treatment was not part of his medical training.

Deciding to join a research practice where he could further study the dangers of visceral belly fat, he and his family moved from Washington, D.C., to Minneapolis. Dr. Sean O’Mara saw that chronic disease is the country’s leading health problem, and consuming only meat and vegetables is a wonderful solution to treating chronic diseases as it takes away the visceral fat that is in the body.

Dr. O’Mara realized the importance of following in the footsteps of our ancestors eating the same foods. This includes eating foods that are fermented, such as kombucha, kefir, blue cheese, kimchi, and fermented beets. These kinds of foods are so good for you due to the microbes that they contain.

Also, it is essential to make sure that the meats we are eating have also been eating healthy foods. This means buying meat that is only fed grass, not grains or other processed foods. Look for meat that is lean with golden fat around the edges rather than white fat, which means that the cow was fed grains.

Conducting years of research with MRI scans, Dr. O’Mara discovered that marbled meat is actually the inflamed muscles resulting from the animal eating grain, corn, or molasses. While these processed foods are used to help fatten up the cow, they are also the cause of inflammation in the animals. Consuming meat from these animals can lead to a harmful build-up of visceral fat in humans.

After his years of using MRI scans, Dr. Sean O’Mara advocates that it is a wonderful way to find out what is going on inside of your body. This can give you an accurate picture of how much visceral fat your body is holding. Dr. O’Mara believes that these scans are very persuasive as they demonstrate the person’s need for dietary changes and reduce the amount of visceral fat inside their body.

Dr. Sean O’Mara has spent years researching ways to implement optimal plans for stopping the development of chronic diseases or reversing the process. Because of all of his extensive research and work, he was nationally recognized and was awarded a research grant from the National Science Foundation in 2016. This has helped him to continue his important research for preventing chronic health problems.

Dr. O’Mara’s techniques for health optimization were created to assist people in taking charge of their health having the ability to stop and resolve chronic issues. With these techniques, a person can appear and feel like a much younger version of themselves as they are treating the cause of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms.

Dr. Sean O’Mara dedicates his proceeds back to research, as he is avidly looking to help everyone obtain optimal health. As one of the first (and potentially the only) health optimization doctors, he has had the opportunity to work with high-profile clients utilizing his health optimization plans. But, his goal is to help everyone reach their peak biological potential.
