AppsForBharat, focused on building applications for otherworldly and devotional needs of Indian users, has raised $4 million in seed funding co-led by Sequoia Capital India and BEENEXT. The round additionally saw interest from WEH Ventures.

Founded in November 2020 by Prashant Sachan, AppsForBharat is currently developing a range of mobile applications that offer superior user experience and cater to the country’s many underserved and often overlooked profound just as devotional needs. Sachan was the prime supporter of the lifestyle centric short video application Trell until March 2021.
According to Entrackr’s sources, AppsForBharat’s maiden application, which is in stealth mode, would center around devotional space and provide every day aarti, chalisa, panchang, horoscope among others.
At present, Sutradhar, MyMandir, 27 Mantra among a few others are notable players in the devotional and religious domains.
